Prior to joining Qualia, I worked as a content strategist at various tech companies for about 10 years. On the side, I was running professional development workshops and helping diverse women land new opportunities. This side work—connecting talented people to new jobs—lit a fire in me and became my new passion. So, in 2019, I decided to take the plunge, pivot careers and apply my marketing skills to a role where I could help others plan their own career paths. When it came time to find a new job, I was determined to join a team that not only focused on helping others, but also navigated its own processes with empathy and kindness.
Qualia marked my entry into the people operations space. From the moment I first talked to the team, I knew it would be a good fit. There was an element of kindness woven through every interaction during the interview process. Each touchpoint was handled with a level of care and respect that made me excited to join the team.

Today, I’m grateful to work alongside such thoughtful coworkers. We have an incredibly open, collaborative environment, and there are endless opportunities to connect with people on a more personal level—including organized volunteering, a diversity, equity, and inclusion book club, meditation sessions, and fitness classes. Everyone at Qualia is willing to pitch in and lend a hand however they can—no ask too big, no question too small. From a manager who empowers me to trust myself and my ideas, to colleagues who provide coaching, mentorship, and support, I can genuinely say my experience at Qualia has been shaped and defined by the kindness of my teammates. Together, we lift each other up and celebrate every win.
When people ask me to describe what it’s like working at Qualia, I tell them we have a culture of kindness. The opportunity to join such a gracious team was what initially attracted me to the company, but it’s also what has kept me motivated to come to work each day. Transitioning from a career in marketing to people operations was filled with so many unknowns, but interacting with my colleagues on a daily basis reminds me I made the right decision.
